Don’t waste your money on this thing! Mine lasted through about three days of use in my camper before it developed an internal short circuit. Without a load it blows fuses. The company was no help and Wagan didn’t reply. Another great Chinese product?… not! I wish I could give it a zero rating!

I mostly use this inverter to recharge my laptop and charge my cell phone when I’m traveling from one destination to another. It worked just like it was supposed to, with no problems. Using this item is convenient because it allows me to charge these items without having to use the car’s DC adapter for each one. Occasionally I use it to charge my camera too. Very easy to use and it works well.

It worked fine for a few years, then the tip broke apart.

I have noticed this problem on several 12V adaptors.

If the tip of the plug is mostly plastic, with a screw on tip, it will probably break.

The tip needs to be either a solid piece or metal for it to not eventually fail.

The pure sine output is good for audio applications.

However, if car is running, the car produces interference which negates the advantage.

There may be noise filters that could stop the interference but I do not see them here.

So now I am shopping for another and looking closely at the tips.

I’ve used this with a portable battery for several hours and I’m very pleased. The unit does have a small cooling fan. It produces a pure sine wave like the AC in your home. A few electronic items require a Sine Wave Vs the chopped or modified Sine wave of a cheaper inverter. I do have and use both types.

While I ‘didn’t’ look at the voltage with an oscilloscope to verify its purity but it did run items that demanded a pure Sine wave.

Slight annoyance was the top was slightly rounded if you intend to mount the unit from the top.
