    This TV is very easy to set up and the difference in HD and regular channels is definitely noticeable. The sound is great – others complain about the sound not going high enough but we have had no problems with the sound and the TV is in our living room. The DVD is definitely a HUGE bonus and I would not buy a flat screen unless it has this option – it eliminates the need to purchase a DVD separately and have another electronic piece to place somewhere.

    One setback: there is no ‘recall’ button on the remote, but compared to the overall positives about this TV, this issue is minor and almost unimportant and I would recommend this TV for bedroom use or living room use in a small apartment.

    As soon as the TV was connected and powered on I realized it would be going back immediately. This TV incorporates a display that can’t be viewed from lower viewing angles–a problem when mounting the TV at a location above eye level. It’s a similar phenomenon on many lap top computers. It may an intentional design in order to consume less energy. The lesson I learned from this TV is that not all LCDs are created equal. I now realize the importance of test viewing any TV. When I went to the local Sam’s club to see what they had, I employed my new found knowledge to test all the TVs. Out of the 2 dozen sets, there were only a few that had this viewing limitation, but it is a limitation that needs to be considered before mounting the TV in higher locals.

  3. After a few weeks of limited use (bedroom TV);

    Picture is great. Sound is ok for smaller, quiet room. Remote is not the best: no channel return button to go back and forth. Lag time when switching channels is a bit too long for my liking. DVD works and plays well. Very convenient.

    This beauty is hanging in our master bedroom. The display (in glorious HD) is a huge step up over the tv/vcr combo we had previously and the dvd player is easy to operate. The only negative is that our cable remote has no codes for these kinds of combo players. Not Sharp’s fault.

    Did all the research, was going to get the better reviewed 22 inch, but the husband wanted a slightly larger screen, so we popped for this one. I would have loved to have bought it online, but went the Best Buy route (don’t like internet returns). Great picture (the reviews that you have to keep it at eye level are correct – 1 ft above, and the screen is a blur), audio is fine unless your bedroom is a cathedral, and the DVD player is completely quiet (no noise while being used).

    Cons: Delay in switching….even turning on. I am being picky, but it takes a while to turn on when you push the power button (longer than normal), remote is not the most ideal, but is workable.

    Would buy it again in a heartbeat (online – cause it is cheaper).
